No further reform of citizenship law (resolution recommendation)
A recommendation for a resolution on a proposal from the AfD parliamentary group was voted on in the Bundestag. In its application, the AfD parliamentary group calls for a comprehensive reform of citizenship law, which would reverse decisions made by the traffic light coalition in 2024. Naturalization should only be possible after eight years. In addition, any exceptions to language level requirements and the obligation to support oneself should be removed. If you enter illegally, subsequent naturalization should not be possible. As early as October 2025, the nationality law was changed and tightened by the black-red federal government.
