Essential content

The AfD parliamentary group has submitted a bill to amend the Saxon building regulations to the state parliament. The draft primarily deals with stricter requirements for the construction and operation of wind turbines. The core of the bill is the introduction of a nationwide minimum distance of 1,000 meters between wind turbines and residential buildings. From the perspective of the applicants, this is intended to increase acceptance among the population and create a clear legal framework. At the same time, municipalities should continue to have the option of allowing smaller distances under certain conditions. Another focus is on stricter regulations for the dismantling of wind turbines. Operators should be obliged to completely remove systems after the end of use and to provide financial security for this. This is intended to ensure that dismantling costs do not have to be borne by the public sector. The bill was rejected with 61 votes against. 49 MPs voted yes, there were no abstentions.
