How to redeem Stockpile unused gift card: company now closed

I received a gift card from Stockpile for Christmas. The company has now closed and I can’t figure out redeem the gift card. Immediately after Christmas they paused new account creation. I was unaware they were closing and apparently waited too long. I have contacted Public and Stash. Neither will honor the gift card. The gifter contacted their bank and the claim denied.
