My parents will probably live in poverty in old age

Hey, my parents are currently 54 and 52, so they still have a good 13 - 15 years until retirement and my father told me about their pension notices yesterday. My father used to work for his father for little money to help his three-man business. After his father's death, my father took over the shop, but as a self-employed person he never earned much money and therefore paid nothing into the pension fund.
